Around 100 learners from Gower College Swansea attended the recent Annual Student Conference at Sketty Hall.
During the day, students took part in various workshops based on the theme of ‘how to succeed at college and in life.’
Motivational speaker Lee Jackson was also on hand to inspire students on how to stay motivated through ups and downs and how to remain passionate about achieving set goals.
On the day students were encouraged to bid for up to £1500 from curriculum funding for equipment they felt would enhance their learning experience.
“We had some great presentations and among the successful bids were tools for the Plumbing department to harvest rainwater, ‘virtual babies’ for Childcare students, specialist catering utensils and a brow and nail bar for the Broadway Centre,” says Learner Services Manager Anne Pitman. “There were some really good ideas put forward by the students and the judging panel had some tough decisions to make.”
