Maent ar hyn o bryd mae’r cwmni theatr yn gweithio ar ddarn o sioe un dyn, stori ‘Nadolig Plentyn yng Nghymru. Trefnodd Anna Davies ein Hyrwyddwr Dwyieithrwydd, mewn cydweithrediad ag Adran Celfyddydau Dinas a Sir Abertawe, eu bod yn cynnal dau berfformiad ohoni ar gampws Gorseinon y coleg.

Staff and students from Catering and Hospitality have been very busy gearing up for the festive season. Every student in the department is involved with the preparation and service of Christmas lunch and dinner and the annual Christmas Fayre will be the place to purchase our sought after homemade pickles, chutney and puddings.

As a direct result of a two-year European Leonardo funded project entitled ‘Sustainability Through Creativity,’ Gower College Swansea recently organised an exhibition for childcare providers in the local area.
Colleagues from the sector, as well as children from local nurseries and play groups, visited the interactive exhibition which was designed to showcase the work of the project.

Gower College Swansea and the County Youth Dance Company (CYDC) are pleased to be returning to the Taliesin for a sixth year, showcasing the work of the students and staff.
The students are all studying for BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 in Performing Arts or A Level qualifications at Gower College Swansea.
CYDC is made up of students aged 14-21 who are from various schools in Swansea and from the college.
The Company creates performance work throughout the year with support from the college, the Taliesin Arts Centre and West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company.

The week kicked off with a visit by Art and Design students to Swansea Business Gate and the film set of Da Vinci’s Demons, where they learned all about the kinds of employment opportunities that exist in the film and television industry.

Tour the studios, find out about our courses and view artwork produced by current students.
Workshops will run for one hour, starting at 1.30pm until 5.30pm. Schools can book these in advance or it will be first come first served on the day.
Double triumph for Netball Academy
It’s been a busy week for Gower College Swansea’s Netball Academy as they have won not one but two major Welsh tournaments.
The team took the title at the recent Welsh Colleges and Urdd tournaments, making them the double Welsh champions.
“This is an amazing achievement and we are all absolutely delighted,” says Coach Sarah Lewis. “The girls have been working exceptionally hard towards this success, juggling netball training with their academic studies, and these results are a real testament to their dedication."

Members of the catering and housekeeping teams at Awel Y Mor Care Home in Gorseinon have been working towards gaining these qualifications over the past 18 months.

The team behind an innovative entrepreneurial project was recently invited to the Council Chamber to present to the Cabinet of the City and County of Swansea.
Primary to Professional (P2P), which is led by Gower College Swansea in collaboration with Swansea Council, the Welsh Government, primary and secondary schools, higher education providers, Tech Hub and other business partners, seeks to build the enterprise skills of young people by providing bespoke courses and kick-starting the careers of budding entrepreneurs.
