Parents and Carers Zone

At Gower College Swansea we recognise the importance of parents and carers in helping young people move from school to college, and in supporting them through their journey.

We aim to give every young person who studies with us a wide range of new skills and experiences that will prepare them for their next step, whether that be progressing in education or employment.

Studying at College gives your child the independence needed for university and the world of work, and we provide bespoke support to help them achieve their goals and succeed. In addition to high levels of support including our GCS Honours programme, our pathways also include work experience and employment skills.

Our partnership with you

We know how important the partnership between us and you in ensuring your child reaches their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we:

  • Communicate regularly with you to keep you informed of your child’s progress
  • Provide you with progress reports on performance, coursework deadlines, exams and attendance
  • Invite you to regular parents’ evenings and give you the opportunity to meet our tutors
  • Have a dedicated team of staff offering learning support to enable students to succeed
  • Are proactive in offering support and varied educational pathways to enable your child to progress onto higher education, employment or an apprenticeship
