Higher Education isn't one size fits all. At Gower College Swansea, you can study at degree level full-time, part-time, in the evenings (Twilight) or through an apprenticeship. Not sure about committing to a full three-year degree? You can even step-on and step-off your degree journey by completing one year at a time until you’re ready for your next step.
We offer small groups, interactive learning, wraparound support, and close connections with our local employers. Our Higher National qualifications are designed alongside industry needs, with learning and assessment focused on real-world information and tasks.

How to apply
Step 1 - Choose your course
Pick a course that suites how you want to learn, this could be full-time, part-time, evening classes or an apprenticeship.
Make sure you check the course entry requirements and note down the UCAS code for full-time courses.
Step 2 – Apply for a course
Full-time courses
If you wish to apply for a full-time Higher Education course at Gower College Swansea, you will need to apply via UCAS (University and Colleges Admissions System). You can find the UCAS course code and application link on the course page.

Current GCS students
Option 1 - If you wish to apply to several Universities and Colleges including Gower College Swansea, then you need to apply via UCAS.
Option 2 - GCS direct application route
If you only wish to apply for courses at Gower College Swansea and meet the entry requirements for the course, then you can apply via the GCS direct application route. This will be via the College internal system, please speak to your tutor.
If you have already started your application in UCAS then you will need to continue with that route.

In line with UCAS, the first application deadline will be 13 January 2027. You can apply later but applying by this date increases your chance of securing a place on the course. We would encourage you to get your application in early, so you have plenty of time to sort out your Student Finance.
Part-time courses
If you wish to apply for a part-time Higher Education course, you can apply directly through our application portal.
You'll be asked to create an account, continue an application, or sign in to an existing account. If you're new to the College, or haven't studied with us recently, create an account. If you're a current student, you can sign in using your College ID and password.
Each part-time course card has its own ‘Apply (part-time)’ button that will take you to an application form for that specific course.
Apprentices – If you are a new or current apprentice, you must apply for the Higher National Certificate (HNC) part of your qualification via the part-time application route.
If you are new to the College, you need to apply for the apprenticeship side separately. Current apprentices who are progressing, will be contacted by their Work Based Learning Assessor to sign up for the next level of apprenticeship.
