Gower College Swansea students have attended a special graduation ceremony at the city’s National Waterfront Museum to celebrate the achievement of their higher education and professional qualifications.
Almost 100 students donned their cap and gowns to collect certificates in a range of disciplines including AAT Accounting, Engineering, Hair and Beauty, IT, Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Business, Sport and Leadership and Management.
Gower College Swansea offers a wide range of higher education courses – including HNC/HND, Foundation Degrees and teacher training qualifications such as the PGCE - many of which are validated by the leading higher education institutions in Wales.
Professional qualifications are also offered through the college’s GCS Training division, which works closely with industry to deliver bespoke training packages for employees.
“The Welsh Government places great emphasis upon education and, particularly, further and higher education in terms of the delivery of the skills needed to support a strong economy,” says Principal Mark Jones. “I am delighted that Gower College Swansea, working with our HE and other partners, is able to support this agenda and is continuing to develop our HE provision through strong partnership working.
“We congratulate the students who have achieved their qualifications. They are a credit to themselves, their families, their employers and to the college and we wish them well in their future careers.”
In 2014/15, over 200 students completed a higher education or professional qualification with Gower College Swansea, in 27 different subject areas.
