Gower College Swansea is proud to announce its accreditation as a White Ribbon UK organisation, demonstrating its commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
As an accredited organisation, the College has established a dedicated White Ribbon steering group comprised of White Ribbon ambassadors and champions who are working to create a positive culture change and ensure women’s voices are heard.
In recognition of White Ribbon Day, Gower College Swansea encouraged all staff and learners to participate in White Ribbon training videos and consider becoming White Ribbon Ambassadors or Champions themselves. This call to action aims to raise awareness and engage the entire College community.
A key part of the day was the launch of a powerful video featuring senior leaders and managers from across the organisation. The video reaffirmed Gower College Swansea’s commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment, highlighted the College’s promise to end violence against women and girls, and outlined practical actions being taken to support this vital cause.
Additionally, the College hosted drop-in sessions led by Lorraine Evans, Staff Wellbeing Advisor, which provided a safe and supportive space for staff and learners. These sessions covered topics such as domestic abuse, the College’s Domestic Abuse Guidance, and the range of support resources available.
"We are incredibly proud to be a White Ribbon accredited organisation and to stand alongside so many others working to prevent violence against women and girls,” said Sarah King, Vice Principal of People and Wellbeing.
“This accreditation signifies our commitment to creating a culture of respect, equality, and safety for all. We believe that by working together and raising awareness, we can create a truly safe and respectful community for everyone here at Gower College Swansea and beyond.”
