Another successful trip for our International department
Kieran Keogh, Gower College Swansea's International Manager, has returned from a successful two-week business trip to China where he visited a total of nine different cities, starting with Hong Kong and finishing in Beijing.
During the trip, Kieran met with a number of college representatives, interviewed prospective students, visited educational partners and held discussions with three investors about a Gower College Swansea-branded Chinese campus.
Students explore Welsh performance opportunities
A group of Welsh students studying performance-related courses at Gower College Swansea have visited the talented team who run a BA Performance course at the Welsh Centre for Performance at the Gate in Cardiff – a course which is taught through the medium of Welsh.
Our students had an opportunity to take part in acting, dancing and singing workshops led by Eiry Thomas, Jackie Bristow, Elen Bowman and Eilir Owen Griffiths. It was a day packed full of fun and learning, all while promoting the Welsh language in this subject area.

Christmas comes to Llwyn y Bryn!
Level 2 Art and Design students at Llwyn y Bryn have been busy designing and painting festive penguins in readiness for the 2017 Waterfront Winterland.
The students were commissioned by the City and County of Swansea and their work will go on proud display at the Swansea ice rink from 17 November
This year’s sponsors include Heart Radio’s Jagger and Woody, the Swansea Grand Theatre, Admiral Insurance and the College’s very own superhero Bryn.

Access students at Gower College Swansea were invited to an Access conference and Well-being Day at the Gorseinon campus.

Almost 4,500 students start academic year at Gower College Swansea
Almost 4,500 full time students have started the new academic year at Gower College Swansea – signing up for A Levels and vocational courses in a range of subject areas including accountancy, engineering, hair & beauty and plumbing.
They are joining the College at an exciting time, with the imminent completion of renovation work and refurbishments set to enhance student facilities.

College celebrates Diversity Week 2017
Staff and students across Gower College Swansea have celebrated Diversity Week with the twelfth annual Diversity Fayre and a series of awareness-raising workshops.
Among the entertainment on offer this year was an African drumming performance from Gbubemi Amas, a display of Capoeira Brazilian martial arts, Welsh clog dancing from Menter Aberatwe and - back by popular demand - fantastic street dance by Arnold Matsena. Live music was also provided by talented students from Llwyn y Bryn and Gorseinon.

Poetry workshop inspires students
Award-winning poet and journalist Rae Howells has paid a visit to the Gorseinon campus to hold a creative workshop with A Level English students.
Rae, a former student of the college, talked about her career to date before giving a poetry reading and setting the students a writing challenge based on a news story and series of photographs.

Better Jobs and Better Futures on horizon for Swansea
Gower College Swansea is launching a brand new initiative aimed at maximising employability and in-work progression in the Swansea area.
The Better Jobs, Better Futures programme will work alongside the college’s existing upskilling programmes to support unemployed people in finding work, while helping those already in employment to secure better jobs through individually tailored advice and mentoring.

International students enjoy a day out at Rhossili Bay
Our International students recently took in the stunning views of Gower while they explored the beaches of Rhossili.
The fun and games were enjoyed by all as they played football on the sand and rounded off a great day out with ice creams.
