Gower College Swansea Sponsors Welsh Pro event
Gower College Swansea is delighted to be named as a key sponsor of the Welsh Pro, event 4 UKPSA Pro Surf Tour.
This event is part of the Nerf Clash of the Groms Series 2018, which aims to encourage the development of Wales’ junior surfers.
Held on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October at Rest Bay, Porthcawl, the Welsh Pro is set to attract the best surfers from across the UK.

Some of Gower College Swansea's new International students enjoyed the spectacular views of Rhosilli Bay at the weekend.
Basking in glorious sunshine, the students trekked to the lookout house at Worms Head and then headed down to the beach where they participated in games of football, Frisbee and tag.
It was sunshine and smiles all around with one student commenting that Rhosilli was 'the most beautiful place' she had ever visited.
Students scoop Swansea Bay Radio awards
Two students from Gower College Swansea have achieved success at the Swansea Bay Radio Young Achievers Awards 2018.
Patrick Langdon-Dark won the Young Sports Star of the Year title, which was sponsored by Celtic Minor Golf Club.
Surfer Patrick was until very recently a student at the College’s Gorseinon Campus studying Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science.

An employment programme run by Gower College Swansea is celebrating a highly successful first year of delivery.
Better Jobs, Better Futures provides tailored employment and career support to unemployed individuals seeking work and to people already in work who are seeking better employment. The programme can also assist businesses that are looking to expand their workforce.
In just 12 months, Better Jobs, Better Futures has supported over 740 individuals – people like Sean (pictured) who arrived at Better Jobs, Better Futures having been unemployed for eight months

Catering students prepare to represent Wales
Two Hospitality students from Gower College Swansea are set to represent Wales at the WorldSkills UK LIVE National Finals.
Paige Jones, who is on the Level 3 Diploma in Food and Beverage Service Supervision course, and Paulina Skoczek, who is studying Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery, will take part in the Restaurant Services Finals at Birmingham’s NEC in November.

A familiar face is set to return to Gower College Swansea.
Fiona Beresford, who studied A Level History, English and Maths at the Gorseinon campus, has been appointed as the College’s brand new Oxbridge/HE+ Coordinator.
After completing her A Levels in 2009, Fiona attended Churchill College, Cambridge where she achieved a First in History before beginning a teaching career.
Electronic Engineering students head to skills competition
The UK’s top apprentices and learners will be going for gold at the WorldSkills UK LIVE National Finals on 15-17 November.
Among them will be two Electronic Engineering students from Gower College Swansea - Matthew Belton and Jamie Skyrme.
They will attend the event at the Birmingham NEC and undertake a challenging set of competition tasks including fault finding, electronic design, programming and prototyping.
New International students enjoy the city centre experience
A group of our new students recently enjoyed a Swansea city centre orientation exercise with the International team.
They visited Swansea's famous indoor market where they sampled cockles, laverbread and Welsh cakes. The tour also took in Castle Gardens and Swansea Marina.
The College has almost 100 International students currently studying across the Gorseinon, Tycoch and Llwyn y Bryn campuses.
Catering students treated to kitchen skills demo
New Catering and Hospitality students at Gower College Swansea were treated to a live demonstration as part of their induction
Former students Ben Adams and David Davies returned to the Tycoch kitchens to prepare chicken and chorizo terrine, sauté supreme of chicken with dauphinoise potatoes, butternut squash puree and panache of vegetables, followed by chocolate chartreuse mousse.
