Gower College Swansea's highly anticipated prom, held at the historic Patti Pavilion, marked a perfect end to the term. The night's theme was ‘masquerade ball,' and the students did not disappoint, arriving in their most glamorous attire and elegant eye masks.
The event, well deserved after years of hard work and dedication, was one to remember with music, dance and delicious Indian cuisine. As the doors swung open, the electric atmosphere excited the students and they wasted no time in hitting the dance floor.
Guests enjoyed a delectable three-course Indian meal, providing the much-needed energy to keep on dancing. From fragrant curries to mouth-watering samosas, the culinary offerings delighted everyone's taste buds.
Reflecting on the night, Jamil Ahmed, Student Union President and organiser of the prom, shared his enthusiasm saying, "This year's prom is the second prom held by the College's Student Union in its history. We welcomed 200 students to the Patti Pavilion to celebrate the end of what has been an extraordinary year."
"The prom featured flashing lights, DJs, an Indian three-course meal, and a marvellous masquerade theme. It was magnificent to see everyone embrace the theme!"
Jamil, who will be heading to University in September, also reflected on his time as Student Union President, saying, "It has been a fabulous run of mine as Student Union President this year, and the prom served as an epic finale to 'blast the fireworks' in celebration of a wonderful year that I won't ever forget."
The feedback from the attendees was outstanding, with prom surpassing all expectations.
Joshua Jordan, Learner Engagement & Personal Development Lead, expressed his pride in the students' accomplishments and praised the Student Union for their exceptional efforts in organising such a remarkable event. "The event was a huge success, and it was great to see learners celebrating the end of their studies," he shared. "Credit must be given to Jamil, Student Union President, for organising the venue, theme and menu. It was perfect."
