Employability Skills for Childcare Level 1 - Introductory Diploma
Overview
This Level 1 course is specifically designed for 16+ year-olds and is the perfect introduction to employability skills needed for a job in childcare. The course provides the perfect starting point for your career in early years, whether you want to work in nurseries, preschools, or as a childminder.
Over the year, you will have taught sessions in college by friendly, supportive and knowledgeable staff and will have the opportunity to attend placements in both day nurseries and schools.
Key information
- GCSE English Language grade E and one other GCSE grade D, or some qualifications at entry Level 3 with a positive tutor report
- You must complete a DBS check prior to enrolling on the course (approximately £40).
This course is assessed through written assignments which are graded pass or fail. The subjects will include lots about child development and the skills needed to start a career in childcare. This will include you showing your skills in placement by preparing small activities for children.
Passing this course will provide opportunities for you to apply for Level 2 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development (full time, part time or apprenticeship route)
