Apprenticeship Week Wales is back for 2025, an annual celebration that shines a spotlight on the vital role apprenticeships play in shaping the future workforce, empowering learners and driving business success.
This year, AW Wales runs from Monday 10 – Sunday 16 February, where employers, colleges, schools and more come together to showcase the life changing opportunities apprenticeships provide and their significant contribution to the economy.

Over 130 staff members from across all campuses enjoyed a range of free activities which included an escape room challenge, festive wreath making, Shamanic healing, pet therapy, bingo and pickleball. In addition, they were able to seek advice on legal matters, HRT, mental health and fitness.

Gower College Swansea offers a vast range of courses for adult learners in all sorts of areas from the creative arts, health and beauty, and personal development, to construction and trades, business and finance, and essential skills.
What’s more, they are all available to take up on a part-time basis so you can fit them around work, family life and other commitments.
Mark Clement, Gower College Swansea’s Learning Area Manager for Hospitality, Tourism, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, recently won an award for his sweet confections at a glittering event at St Tewdrics House, Chepstow.
Mark was named the Welsh regional winner in the Wedding Cake Designer of the Year category at the 2025 Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA).
It’s been an incredible year for the Landscaping and Eco-Construction team at Gower College Swansea.
Back in May, their brand new Green Hwb facility - comprising workrooms, art workshops, a pond, polytunnel and orchard - was officially launched by Iolo Williams.
During the summer, the teaching team were recognised with a Silver Award for FE Team of the Year at the Pearson National Teaching Awards. They were also finalists in the Learner Engagement in School/College category at the Professional Teaching Awards Cymru.

In addition to her demanding teaching role, Susanne has set herself a challenge that goes beyond the classroom – to knit 365 hats, one for each day of the year, for those in need.
