Fantastic 14 offered Oxbridge places

Fourteen A Level students from Gower College Swansea have been offered places to study at Oxford or Cambridge University in 2025.

The students are all following the College’s GCS Honours programme at the Gorseinon Campus, which aims to provide the best possible preparation for students aiming to progress to Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group universities. They are:

A new partnership with the Cyber Innovation Hub (CIH) brings a programme of cyber security education to Sketty Hall Business School. The partnership will focus on upskilling industry in cyber security hygiene and help ensure businesses across South-West Wales have the knowledge, skills and understanding to secure their business operations. This partnership builds on and extends Gower College Swansea's outstanding reputation as a leader in digital skills and cyber security provision.

Building Digital Talent: Swansea Council and Gower College Swansea celebrate apprenticeship success

Gower College Swansea is celebrating the achievements of five apprentices from Swansea Council’s Digital Services team, who have recently completed their two-year Telecoms Professional apprenticeship programme. Apprenticeship Week Wales is an annual celebration that shines a spotlight on the vital role apprenticeships play in shaping the future workforce, empowering learners and driving business success.

This year, Gower College Swansea has commemorated the campaign with a week of activities including a recruitment fair, an awards ceremony, and a suite of information sessions for individuals and employers alike.

GCS Owls Rocket League Team Claims Victory at Bett 2025!

Gower College Swansea’s Esports team, GCS Owls, took centre stage at Bett 2025, not only claiming victory in the Rocket League tournament but also engaging with industry leaders and showcasing their passion for competitive gaming.

College highlights impressive student support provision

Gower College Swansea was delighted to welcome Sioned Williams, Senedd Regional Member, to the Tycoch campus recently.

During her tour of the campus, Sioned visited the College’s Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Independent Living Skills (ILS) departments, as well as Learner Services and the Library team. There, staff were able to showcase the various levels of support we offer to students such as advice on funding, pastoral care, enrichment and wellbeing, and neurodiversity.    

Creative careers start at Gower College Swansea

Students on a range of art and design courses at Gower College Swansea had a fantastic opportunity to meet with employers and artists during the third annual Design 48 showcase, which was held at the Gorseinon and Llwyn y Bryn campuses.

The idea behind Design 48 was developed by the College in partnership with Rachael Wheatley of Waters Creative.

A series of talks and practical taster sessions, Design 48 is designed to inspire learners, boost employability skills and raise awareness of the educational and career pathways available within the creative industries.

This year, AW Wales runs from Monday 10 – Sunday 16 February, where employers, colleges, schools and more come together to showcase the life changing opportunities apprenticeships provide and their significant contribution to the economy.
