The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Wales has opened its South West Wales office at Gower College Swansea’s Sketty Hall Business School, further strengthening the links between business and education in the region.
“We are delighted to welcome CBI Wales to their new home at Sketty Hall Business School as this presents a valuable opportunity for further collaboration, knowledge exchange and closer engagement with our learners,” says the College’s Principal, Paul Kift. “It also aligns perfectly with our ambition to be responsive to business needs in order to deliver cutting edge provision. Our students benefit, as we can ensure they have tailored skills to be more employable and have even better prospects for their future careers.”
In addition, the Director of CBI Wales, Russell Greenslade, has recently joined the Sketty Hall Business School’s Advisory Board, bringing with him over 20 years of leadership experience including his time as Chief Executive of Swansea BID. His involvement will help bridge the gap between education and enterprise, particularly around skills development and employer engagement.
“Sketty Hall Business School plays a vital role in developing the next generation of talent - aligned with the skills, ambition, and leadership our economy needs,” says Russell. “I’m looking forward to contributing insights from our business community and supporting the College’s work in bridging education and enterprise.”
The move to Sketty Hall is just the latest in a long line of connections between Gower College Swansea and CBI Wales. The former Director of CBI Wales - Ian Price – has recently become the Chair of the College’s Governing Body.
The Sketty Hall Business School Advisory Board comprises: CBI Wales; Pobl; Vodafone; Celtic Freeport; Tidal Range Alliance; Tramshed Tech; Secret Hospitality Group; Resource Ltd; Hyppo Hydrogen Solutions; The Safety Letterbox Company; Mazuma; Concrete Structures and Floors; reThink PR and Marketing; Mrs Buckét and Swansea Council.
“Gower College Swansea is proud to have partnered with so many leading local, regional and national organisations and employers who form the Advisory Board,” says Paul. “This reinforces the Business School’s mission to develop future talent that meets the needs of our evolving economy.”
