Gower College Swansea has signed a ‘Sister School’ partnership with Wuhan No. 49 High School, China, with both parties agreeing to participate in student and staff exchanges and share best practice.
Wuhan is an official sister city of Swansea. Their ties date back to the 1800s when Griffith John, a pioneering missionary from Swansea, lived in the area and founded one of the largest hospitals in China, The Wuhan Union Hospital.
It is hoped that a group of Wuhan students and teachers will visit the College this year for a study tour.
