Gower College Swansea has welcomed four members of staff from the Dutch College of ROC Midden.
Hosted by the Business and Technology Learning Area from Tuesday 17 until Friday 20 April, their main focus was to see how the Welsh education system varies from the Dutch.
They observed classes from Levels 1-3 in business, economics, accounting, criminology and law, in both Gorseinon and Tycoch Campuses. They also saw how the staff here at the College motivate students to achieve their full potential.
It was all part of the Erasmus+ programme and was arranged between international offices from both Colleges - with help from Gower College Swansea’s Learning Area Manager for Business and Technology, Bruce Fellowes and Assistant Learning Area Manager, Darren Fountain.
Bruce visited the ROC Midden College back in 2010 which he said was a really worthwhile experience.
Speaking about the visit, he said: “Over the past eight years Gower College Swansea has enjoyed a successful partnership with ROC Midden College as part of an annual international work experience programme for motor vehicle students.
“Staff from our health and social care and business departments have also visited the Netherlands over the years and now we’re welcoming our counterparts. We were delighted to show them some of the recent developments at the College including our brand new student common room area and HE Centre at Tycoch Campus.”
