College introduces new Legal Services apprenticeship

Gower College Swansea is thrilled to announce the availability of a brand new Legal Services apprenticeship, further expanding our award-winning apprenticeship provision.

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX), this highly practical and career-focused programme will enable candidates to pursue a variety of roles within the legal sector, including Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Legal Administrator and Legal Secretary.

The apprenticeship has been designed to develop the essential skills, knowledge and professional expertise required to become a successful paralegal or legal assistant – roles that play a crucial function in supporting legal teams and ensuring the smooth operation of law firms and legal practices.

Apprentices will gain hands-on experience in areas such as legal research, document preparation, client communication and case management, preparing them for success in the dynamic world of legal services.

Speaking about the new apprenticeship route, Darren Fountain, Learning Area Manager for Business and Technology at the College, said:

“We’re delighted to announce our new Legal Services apprenticeship, designed to help both current and aspiring legal professionals develop the skills and knowledge they need to advance their careers. Located at our beautiful Sketty Hall Business, this programme will work closely with local legal employers to provide an exceptional training and upskilling opportunity.”

Available from September 2024, the 21-month programme will be delivered at the College’s Sketty Hall Business and is suitable for both new and existing team members within the legal sector.
