Team Leading (ILM) Level 2 - Certificate
Overview
The Level 2 ILM Team Leading qualification is designed for new and aspiring team leaders, and will provide an introduction to the role and its responsibilities. This is nationally recognised qualification, and is an ideal launch pad for your management career.
Key information
Learners must be new or aspiring team leaders.
Learners will be allocated a dedicated tutor/assessor, who will work closely with both learners and employer to ensure the units selected are suited to their individual roles, organisational priorities and meet the requirements of the qualification. Delivery can be remote, or the tutor/assessor can visit the learner every four to six weeks at a location convenient for both learner and assessor.
Units
The qualification consists of three mandatory units, where you’ll learn how to:
- Plan, allocate and monitor work
- Tools and techniques to develop yourself as a leader
- How to get the most from your team
Learners will then work with your employer and the College to find the best fit from a wide range of optional units.
Upon successful completion of the course, ILM would recommend the following qualifications:

In collaboration with The Institute of Leadership, learners will receive access to The Institute’s studying membership. This membership provides access to a range of resources that will develop leadership skills, boost confidence and enhance the learning experience.
