Gower College Swansea has received an Education First (EF) High School Global Education Excellence Award for the second time.

The award was presented in recognition of continuing to help students achieve excellent A Level results and progress to some of the UK’s most esteemed universities.

A Refreshing Day Out at Rhossili Bay

Rhossili Bay’s gorgeous views and expansive sands made quite an impression on our current 1st year cohort.

Students were delighted to finally have the opportunity to relax together and socialise at one of Gower’s most popular beaches. Rain looked likely, but fortunately, the weather stayed dry and mild during our group visit.

“It’s one of the best views I’ve ever seen, and Worms Head Island reminds me of my favourite beach at home,” said Nick, who is originally from Cambodia.

New Partner School in Noida, India

Gower College Swansea has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Prometheus School in Noida, India.

Prometheus School is CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education) accredited and was attracted to Gower College Swansea by our experience and success in the A Level programme. This exciting partnership will collaborate on a number of areas including summer and winter schools, online tutorials, and the Oxbridge Preparation Programme.

A demonstration of world-class skills

Gower College Swansea joins forces with WorldSkills UK to demonstrate world-class skills.

Students at Gower College Swansea demonstrated their world-class electronic engineering skills when they took part in a virtual training event with students from across China.

The event was the first of its kind to be held in Wales, and was organised by WorldSkills UK, the education and skills charity, supporting its programme to exchange best practice in skills development with countries around the world.

Virtual graduation ceremony for international students

Thanks to the wonders of digital technology, our international students had a very different graduation ceremony to previous years.

On the 29 June, our A Level students attended an online event, which had various messages from staff across the College, including Principal, Mark Jones.

Students enjoyed a slideshow of their social programme followed by a presentation of the certificates by Terry Summerfield, International Tutor.
