Gower College Swansea has received an Education First (EF) High School Global Education Excellence Award for the second time.
The award was presented in recognition of continuing to help students achieve excellent A Level results and progress to some of the UK’s most esteemed universities.
EF is a renowned global brand in education, therefore this is a great recognition for both the International Office and A Level teaching staff for all their commitment to support students’ success during such challenging times.
In addition, the College’s International Office has been working hard on further generating global links and, despite the challenges of the pandemic, is delighted to welcome a strong number of students from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Russia.
The College has also been successful in securing two further vital funding streams, the Turing Scheme and Erasmus+. The Turing Scheme will provide students with the opportunity to travel to China or Cambodia for a two-week exchange programme, with the Erasmus+ activities creating placements for students in Benfica, ROC Midden College in the Netherlands and Werner Siemens School in Germany.
Ruth Owen Lewis, Head of International said, “We are delighted to be recognised with this award from EF [Education First], especially during such challenging times. International students at Gower College Swansea are fortunate to have a dedicated International Office and excellent lecturers, all committed to ensuring their success. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my team and all the teaching staff involved.”
