A student from Gower College Swansea has been shortlisted in the inaugural Cambridge Society for Economic Pluralism (CSEP) essay competition, which is open to AS Level students across the UK.
Emily Lewis-Tasi is studying maths, geography and economics at the Gorseinon campus. Her essay - entitled 'What lessons, if any, has economics learnt from the 2008 financial crisis?' - was one of just five entries to be shortlisted by world renowned economist Ha-Joon Chang and will now be included in CSEP’s Annual Magazine 2016.
“This is the first year of the competition so we are delighted to have a student with Emily’s talent represent us – to have impressed someone as eminent as Ha-Joon Chang is an incredible achievement,” says Learning Area Manager Bruce Fellowes. “Emily was competing alongside other students from schools such as Eton so this success will set her in great stead when she comes to apply for university, where she hopes to study economics.”
