Director of HR presents at national menopause conference
Gower College Swansea's Director of Human Resources, Sarah King, recently spoke at an annual Menopause in the Workplace conference in Cardiff, which was led by Policy Insight Wales.
The conference was set up for organisations to learn how to better support, value and retain staff members who are experiencing symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.
In light of new guidance issued by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), it is now imperative that employers make reasonable adjustments for employees going through menopause.

Gower College Swansea has launched the Just BREATHE campaign to help students reduce stress and manage any anxiety they may have during the upcoming exam and assessment period.
With students coming to the end of their studies, many feel under pressure to secure the required grades to get into college, university, or progress into the world of work. Combined with parental, teacher and self-expectations, increased workload and uncertainty of the future, the additional pressure faced at exam and assessment time can massively exacerbate stress and anxiety.
Former pupils return to Llwyn y Bryn
It was a walk down memory lane for a group of former Llwyn y Bryn pupils when they returned recently for a special guided tour.
The friends, led by Liz Mundee, attended Llwyn y Bryn Grammar School from 1965 to 1972.
The beautiful old building now forms part of Gower College Swansea and is home to a diverse group of students who study a range of subjects including art and design, photography, music and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).

Nominated as a finalist in both the Public Sector category and the Employee Wellness Initiative of the Year for the work it has undertaken on raising awareness about the menopause, the College was delighted to have won.
Students look ahead to a greener future
Students at Gower College Swansea were introduced to lots of exciting career and volunteering opportunities at a recent Green Summit held at the Gorseinon Campus.
The Sustainable Futures event was organised by the College’s dedicated Environment Club with the guidance of Environment and Sustainability Advisor, Laura Wilkins.
Students were able to meet with professionals from leading local organisations, chatting about sustainable issues and finding out more about potential career development pathways.
