Gower College Swansea Catering student Charlotte Walker has taken Silver at the SkillsCompetition Wales Patisserie final.
Charlotte, who is studying for her VRQ Level 2 Professional Cookery qualification at the Tycoch campus, competed against eight other students on the day.
For the event, Charlotte prepared a delicious selection of sweet treats comprising decorated roulade filled with crème pâtissière, almond sable biscuits and a melting middle soufflé pudding in just three hours.
“The brief was extremely challenging and required all candidates to demonstrate their creativity, speed, precision and flair,” says Mark Clement, Learning Area Manager for Hospitality. “I am so pleased for Charlotte. She has shown great commitment and determination leading up to the day and her practical skills have developed considerably over the past few weeks. It was a joy to see Charlotte immerse herself into this competition.”
