Gower College Swansea recently held a special celebratory event at the Liberty Stadium to honour members of staff with more than 20 years’ service.
“This is the second consecutive year that we have held these Long Service Awards as we feel it is very important to recognise the dedication and loyalty of so many of our members of staff,” says Director of HR Sarah King. “It was also a perfect opportunity to showcase the College’s brand new staff choir who made their debut at the event and who gave a fantastic performance.”
Recognised for dedicating more than 30 years’ service to the College were education support officer Barbara Beddows, lecturer Gillian Thomas, MIS and exams manager Clare Fisher and science technician Fran Burkett.
Also in attendance – and recognised for more than 20 years’ service – were catering assistant Kim Ford, lead tutor Alison Booth, faculty officer Leanne Dalling, IT technicians Tristram Arnold and Ian Parkhouse, hairdressing technician Annie Bentley, equality and diversity leader/lecturer Jane John, learning area manager Lucy Hartnoll, curriculum leaders Hywel Peckham, Lee Hayward, Paul John and Ruth Benson, library advisor Melanie Cook and coordinator Adele Bubear.
All of these members of staff received personalised goodie bags before being invited to enjoy a festive champagne afternoon tea.
