A special evening of music and song took place recently at Gower College Swansea, as a charity concert was held in support of the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
The event, which was hosted at the Tycoch Campus, brought together The Gwalia Singers male voice choir and talented student performers Abigail Rankin, Isobel McNeill and Carys Morgan.
The Gwalia Singers, led by Musical Director Matthew Ioan Sims MA and accompanied by Rhian Liles BMus (Hons) treated the audience to a selection of beautiful songs including There Is A Land, You Raise Me Up and O Gymru.
Gower College Swansea students Abigail, Isobel and Carys, led by Curriculum Leader Jon Rogers, sang a selection of solo pieces and one trio, I Wish I May from The Witches of Eastwick.
This wonderful occasion not only showcased exceptional musical talent but also served as a beacon of awareness for MND, a progressive disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
“This was a truly wonderful occasion and we were delighted to host the event at the College,” says Principal Kelly Fountain. “It’s inspiring to see how our local community can work together in such a meaningful way to support this important cause. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, and made this event possible.”
The event sponsors for the evening were:
