Creative Arts students from Gower College Swansea attended a very special film premiere recently.
They were invited to Pontardawe Arts Centre to watch a film that - thanks to It’s My Shout, an independent film production company and training scheme based in Wales – they had a hand in making.
It’s My Shout, which makes short films for BBC Wales and S4C, offers young people an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals. It also allows them to gain an insight into the creative industries whether that be lighting, sound, media production, hair and make-up, or acting.
Around 60 of our talented learners participated in this production, gaining fantastic hands-on experience.
“This was an amazing opportunity for our students to get involved in an exciting film project which gave them real-world experience, boosted their confidence and which will be a fabulous addition to their CVs and personal statements,”
says Learning Area Manager, Liz Edwards.
“The creative industries are so important to Wales and we are delighted to have been involved in such a wonderful project.”
