Legolas, one of our first year international students, has received an honourable mention in this year's photography competition from the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge! The theme was Sociology of Resistance.
Legolas’ image was taken at the local beauty spot of Caswell Bay, Swansea on a day out with his homestay family. He says he is extremely pleased to have had his work nominated and recognised by such an eminent university.
Legolas is also part of our Oxbridge Preparation Programme and was delighted to be presented his certificate in person by Dr Sara Owen of Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge on a recent College trip. He got the opportunity to have a one to one chat and gather information for his forthcoming application. Our Oxbridge Coordinator, Fiona Beresford, says “Legolas’ entry was absolutely superb and he should be incredibly proud of this result. It’s an incredible achievement.”
The International Team are also thrilled and hope Legolas’ success will inspire others in our international cohort at the College to participate in both super and extracurricular activities while studying with us.
