Introduction to Gardening
Overview
Join our 10-week Beginners’ Gardening Course, taking place over three hours every Friday morning (9am-12pm).
The course is designed for those who are new to gardening or would like to develop their existing knowledge and practical skills.
With a strong focus on seasonal gardening, you will learn about harvesting crops, collecting and storing seeds, planting spring bulbs, preparing soil and making compost. We will also explore planting trees, shrubs and perennials, dividing established plants, taking cuttings, pruning and protecting plants through the winter.
The course will also introduce ways to encourage wildlife into your garden, maintain healthy soil and plan ahead for a productive and attractive garden in the seasons to come.
Combining practical activities with essential horticultural knowledge, this friendly course is an ideal opportunity to learn, develop confidence and enjoy gardening in a supportive environment.
Whether you have a garden, allotment, patio or simply a few pots, you’ll learn useful skills, meet fellow gardening enthusiasts and enjoy being outdoors.
