ERS Domestic ACS Gas Assessment - Course

Overview

ACS Gas certificates expire every five years. This course will refresh your knowledge and understanding, as it is essential to maintain registration with the competent person scheme (Gas safe register) to work safely on domestic natural gas pipework ad listed appliances.

Funding is available for this course subject to meeting eligibility criteria. 

Key information

Learners will be required to provide proof of their ACS qualification, which must be within one year of expiry. A short interview will also be required with the tutor of the course. 

The course will be delivered over five days, including three assessment days at Gower College Swansea’s Energy Centre, based at Tycoch Campus.

Upon successful completion of the course, learners may progress to:

  • Domestic Appliance Assessments: DAH1, CPA1, MET1
  • LPG Assessments: CoNgLp1 (PD), CoNGLP1 (RPH), ConNGLP1 (LAV)
  • Building Regulations: UVDHW, EnEff1, Water Reg
  • ACS Gas Domestic to Commercial Conversion

Learners will be assessed through a paper-based multiply choice examination, as well as practical assessments consisting of both scenario and simulated working environment assessments.
