Childcare students on both Tycoch and Gorseinon campuses have enjoyed singing workshops from Carys John of Ffa-La-La. Ffa-La-La is a company that trains people who work in nurseries on their use of Welsh.
The aim of these monthly workshops is to train our students - who are either on placement in a nursery, school or residential home setting - to sing simple Welsh songs and create movements to go with them.
“It was a special opportunity for our students to develop their Welsh language skills in a practical way and with a strong link to their work placement,” says Welsh Manager Anna Davies. “They can now feel more confident whilst presenting songs in the Foundation Phase and that will, in turn, improve the Welsh language skills of the children and older people they come into contact with. We would like to give a special thanks to Carys for conducting these workshops.”
