Professional Cookery and Catering Level 1 - Diploma
Overview
During this one year course you can expect real hands-on experience whilst working with like-minded staff and students.
You will complete a Chef’s Diploma and a Food Service Certificate. You will complete a range of assessments to develop your ability in delivering excellent customer service, in a commercial catering environment.
You will also study relevant Mathematics, English Language, Digital Literacy and Employability, through our Level up programme.
Key information
- 16+ years of age
- Minimum of 3 GCSE at E grade or above, good references and a successful interview.
Practical assessments will be completed in the Vanilla Pod and commercial kitchens.
Theory units include multiple choice questions, written assignments and short tests.
Units are graded pass / merit / distinction.
Opportunities to progress on to Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery and Catering or Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
You will be required to buy specialist uniform and equipment (approximately £250).
