Key information

  • A minimum of seven GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English Language

The course is split equally between on-screen exams and practical tasks.

Year 1 AS (40% of A Level) 

  • On screen exam: Innovation in digital technology 
  • Creative digital practices task: Project creating a game using GameMaker Studio 

Both units are worth 50% of the AS level and 20% of the full A level. 

Year 2 A Level (60% of A Level) 

  • On screen exam: Connected systems 
  • Digital solutions task: Project making a Transactional website 

Both units are worth 50% of the A2 level and 30% of the full A level. 

Achieving an A Level in Digital Technology opens up a world of exciting progression opportunities. If you’re looking to further your education, there are many universities that offer relevant degree programs such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Media, or Information Technology.  

 Alternatively, you may wish to pursue an Appreniticeship in areas like software development, digital marketing, or IT consultancy. These will allow you to gain practical experience while earning a wage, combining on-the-job training with academic study.   

Furthermore, you many wish to enter the workforce, using your A Level qualification to secure entry-level positions in various industries, such as web development, digital marketing, or data analysis.
