Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development: Practice and Theory Level 3
Overview
This Level 3 course, taught at either the Tycoch Campus or Gorseinon Campus, is designed for individuals passionate about working with children and interested in careers in childcare, early years education, or related fields.
You'll gain practical experience through placements in settings like day nurseries, where you'll build a portfolio and be observed by your assessor.
This course prepares you for exciting employment opportunities, such as working as a teaching assistant or in a day nursery. It also provides a strong foundation for university degrees in fields like teaching, nursery work, early years, play therapy, or social work. Upon successful completion, you'll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to pursue these career paths and further your education.
Key information
- Five GCSEs at grade C or above, to include English Language
- Or successful completion of Level 2 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development, with a positive tutor report.
- Two years full-time
- Split week- placement and college attendance
- Block placement weeks
- Assessments include work placement observations and WJEC set written assessment.
Passing this course gives you a qualification that allows progression to university or into the world of work. Employment opportunities include working in a day nursery or as a teaching assistant. University opportunities include studying teaching, nursing, early years degree, play therapy or social work.
