We are delighted to welcome our new cohort of international students this academic year from China, Lithuania, Vietnam and Brazil, alongside returning students from China, Hong Kong, Thailand and South Korea.
To help them settle in, we arranged a tour of Swansea City Centre where they explored local landmarks, tasted traditional Welsh delicacies and enjoyed some recreational activities. Recently, they visited the Gower to see Worms Head and the award-winning Rhossili Beach. For many students, who come from cities several hours away from the coast, this was a special opportunity to appreciate the beautiful views and time outdoors.
This year, we’re delighted to welcome our first cohort of students from Brazil. Nine students have been sponsored by the Brazilian Government to study at Gower College Swansea to experience British school life, improve their English, and explore subjects not typically offered within their home curriculum. These high performing students were selected from many applicants in a competitive process and should be very proud of what they have achieved so far. We hope this relationship will continue, with more students expected to join us next term.
All our international students are making the most of their time here—building friendships with local peers, improving their English, and broadening their intercultural understanding. They are motivated by ambitious goals for their future studies after Gower College Swansea. We look forward to seeing how these students progress and develop during their time with us.
