Inspire! Adult Learning Awards 2025

Gower College Swansea was delighted to attend this year’s Inspire! Adult Learning Awards.

Chief Executive Officer, Kelly Fountain, was also invited to deliver a welcome address at the special event at Swansea's Brangwyn Hall.

As a College, we are committed to inspiring learners of all ages and were thrilled to support this incredible celebration of adult learning. As a UNESCO City of Learning, Swansea has always been recognised for its commitment to education, innovation and community spirit.

The Inspire! Awards recognise the life-changing power of education and the extraordinary individuals and community projects that embody passion, perseverance and transformation through learning. The Inspire Awards represent something truly remarkable - they shine a spotlight on the courage, determination and success of adults who have chosen to transform their lives through education.

These awards recognise not just academic achievement, but the incredible personal journeys, the obstacles overcome and the inspiring stories of transformation that each nominee represents.

“As a passionate advocate for lifelong learning, I was delighted to be part of this year’s Inspire! Awards,” said Kelly.

“It was truly humbling to hear the inspiring stories behind the award winners. Events like these remind us of the profound impact learning can have, not only on individuals but also on families, workplaces and entire communities.

"At Gower College Swansea, we’re also proud to lead the Adult Learning Partnership Swansea (ALPS), a regional collaboration dedicated to promoting lifelong learning opportunities for adults across the Swansea Bay area.

"As a very proud Chair of ALPS here in Swansea, we understand the vital importance of the adult learning partnership which brings together the Lifelong Learning Service at Swansea Council, Adult Learning Wales, Mentor Iaith Abertawe, Learn Welsh Swansea Bay region, the Swansea Council for Voluntary Service, Swansea University, University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Gower College Swansea.

Through our collaborative work, we can see on a daily basis how adult education transforms lives and strengthens our community," she added.
