As part of the St David’s Day / Mis Cŵl Cymru celebrations at Gower College Swansea, baritone Mark Llewelyn Evans conducted music workshops with Performing Arts students, many of whom are keen to study music and acting at university.
Mark studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama before attending the National Opera Studio. His performances include classical and popular songs, Rodgers & Hammerstein hits, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, film scores and Celtic ballads.
Mark started the workshop with a warm-up session before moving on to individual master classes with the students. He also gave tips and advice on how they could improve their performance.
"The students' feedback was very positive and shows how partnerships like this can stimulate and develop their self-confidence as they prepare for their progression paths," says the college's Bilingual Champion Anna Davies.
