Gower College Swansea student, Sean Sarsfield, has won the prestigious Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Further Education award for south west Wales. The presentation was made by the Chairman for the 2013/2014 session of the IET Local Network for Wales South West.
Sean recently completed the BTEC Extended Diploma in Electronic Engineering at the college and is now employed at Zeta Alarm Systems, where the presentation took place. Matthew Rogers, Operations Manager at Zeta Alarm Systems, commented that Sean is one of a number of Gower College Swansea students now employed by the company, all of whom are proving to be of a very high calibre.
Steve Williams, Curriculum Leader for Electronics, added: “Sean is an excellent example of a new young engineer; he encompasses an excellent entrepreneurial attitude which is so important in the modern world of engineering. His “can do” attitude is quite infectious and this has served him well in his learning journey to date. His new employers are already impressed with his work ethic and he has a bright future ahead of him.”
