Gower College Swansea’s HR department is in the running for another top award.
The team have been shortlisted in the Best In-House Team category at the CIPD Wales Awards, which take place at Cardiff City Hall on 15 November.
This particular award recognises HR teams that have worked closely together to deliver value through people-focused initiatives and practices.
During the shortlisting process, the judges looked for evidence of how the team supports and develops team members; achieves results through effective team working; and aligns its objectives to the overall objectives of the organisation, having a positive impact on both employees and business performance.
“We are really delighted to have been shortlisted for the prestigious CIPD Wales Awards,” says Director of HR Sarah King. “I have an amazing team of whom I’m really proud and we’ve made real progress in recent years to develop the wellbeing agenda and make the HR department more supportive and people-focussed.”
2019 has been quite a year for the College’s HR team. They scooped three prizes at the Wales HR Awards – for Best Use of the Welsh Language, HR Star and HR Director of the Year. The College was also recognised by Welsh Government for its high standard of health and wellbeing practices for its staff through successfully achieving the Gold Corporate Health Standard award.
