Creating Outdoor Clay Planters
Overview
Add a personal touch to your garden by designing and making your own handcrafted outdoor clay planter. This creative, hands-on course will guide you through the process of shaping, building and finishing a unique planter suitable for outdoor use.
With demonstrations and support from your tutor, you’ll explore a range of clay modelling and mould-making techniques, learning how to make sculptures that can withstand the outdoors. The course encourages experimentation while helping you develop practical ceramic and 3D making skills.
There are opportunities to develop various casting techniques with different materials including:
- Plaster
- Modroc
- Alginate
- Clay/cement.
This course is ideal for beginners, garden enthusiasts, or anyone interested in ceramics. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created your own unique outdoor planter.
Please note: Ceramic pieces will need to be collected once they have been fired.
