Overview
This qualification develops the knowledge and skills required to work in accordance with recycling industry requirements. It is suitable for those working at team leader/supervisory level or experienced workers who want to progress their career.
The qualification provides the skills required by operatives to work in accordance with recycling industry requirements for collection, reception and segregation, processing as well as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Recycling (WEEE) activities.
Key information
The qualification will be delivered through a mixture of learning in the workplace, classroom delivery which can be face-to-face or online, as well as one-to-one sessions with your tutor.
The programme can be delivered flexibly, to suit the needs of the learner and employer.

- Understand environmental protection in the waste and recycling industry
- How to identify and resolve disagreements
- Understand the principles of the waste/recycling industry
- Understand the principles of identifying and classifying waste
- Understand the ‘duty of care’ within the waste/recycling industry
- Plan, allocate and monitor work of a team
- ERR (Employment Rights and Responsibilities) in the energy and utility sector
