National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) - Qualification
Overview
This qualification is suitable for managers, supervisors and employees in all industry sectors who have a responsibility or a keen interest in health and safety in the workplace.
The qualification is also suitable for health, safety and environmental practitioners who wish to formalise their experience and progress their career with a formal qualification.
It meets the academic requirements for Technician Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, and Associate Membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.

Key information
Candidates will be required to attend a pre-course interview to discuss the qualification, and establish if the level and content is suitable.
No previous knowledge of health and safety is required, however candidates should note that the assessment includes a requirement to write a short report and sit written examinations.
The qualification consists on two main units, management of health and safety, as well as controlling workplace hazards.
The management of health and safety consists of four elements:
- Why we should manage workplace health and safety
- How health and safety management systems work and what they look like
- Managing risk, understanding people and processes
- Health and safety monitoring and measuring
Controlling workplace hazards consists of seven elements:
- Physical and psychological health
- Musculoskeletal health
- Chemical and biological agents
- General workplace issues
- Work equipment
- Fire
- Electricity
Management of health and safety will be assessed by an online exam, whilst controlling workplace hazards will be assessed through the completion of a risk assessment.
The course cost of £1098 includes NEBOSH registration, examination fees, a revision day, lunch, parking, course handouts and is exempt of VAT.
It is essential that candidates bring a form of photographic ID with you on the day of examination. Failure to do so may result in you not being able to sit the exam.
