Students at Gower College Swansea are celebrating an overall A Level pass rate of over 97%, with 1655 separate exam entries.
Of these passes, 82% were at the higher grades of A*- C, 56% were at grades A*- B and 27% were at grades A* - A – all strong percentage increases on our excellent 2016 results.
The overall pass rate at AS Level was 91%, with 65% of those passes being grades A-C and 44% being grades A or B – again, all strong percentage increases on 2016 results.
There were 3312 separate exam entries for AS.
“I’m delighted with our exam results this year,” says Principal Mark Jones. “I’m particularly pleased that more students are gaining those top grades of A*- C. At A Level, 75 students achieved straight A* - A grades across the board whilst, at AS Level, that figure was 153.”
“Based on these results, we anticipate that six of our students will be starting at an Oxbridge college this September and over 200 will be heading to Russell Group universities across the UK.”
“Congratulations to all our students who have worked exceptionally hard to produce these exam results. I must also acknowledge our fantastic teaching staff who have supported these learners throughout the year. I wish all our graduating students the very best as they progress on to the next phase of their education or join the world of work.”
