Dalian Mingde Senior High School students embarked on an enriching educational journey as they participated in the Gower College Swansea Winter School 2024. Led by the International Office, the students were immersed in a diverse array of academic and cultural experiences during their visit to Swansea.
Central to their itinerary was the opportunity to shadow AS Level classes at Gower College Swansea, offering students a first-hand glimpse into British educational practices and fostering cross-cultural exchange. This allowed Mingde students to engage in academic pursuits alongside local Swansea students.
Beyond the classroom, the Winter School programme was complete with teambuilding activities, campus tours, and local excursions. A visit to the picturesque Rhossili provided a scenic view of the Gower, whilst art sessions allowed creativity and expression among the students.
A highlight of the programme was a trip to Swansea City Centre, where Mingde students immersed themselves in the vibrant culture and history of the city. From trying Welsh Cakes in Swansea Market to exploring local museums and landmarks, providing a window into Swansea life.
For Principal Bing Su and Director of International, Mr Dongfang Zhao, accompanying the students to Gower College Swansea was a testament to their commitment to provide global learning opportunities. Their guidance and support ensured a seamless experience for Mingde students.
As the Winter School programme came to a close, students left with certificates of completion and keepsakes, treasuring the memories they had created during their time. The partnership between Dalian Mingde Senior High School and Gower College Swansea exemplifies the transformative potential of international collaboration, paving the way for future generations to embrace opportunities across the world.
