Over 100 Higher Education students from Gower College Swansea have attended a special graduation event at the Brangwyn Hall.
The students donned their caps and gowns to celebrate their achievement in higher level courses such as accountancy, business, science, engineering, childcare, holistics, housing and management.
"The Welsh Government places great emphasis upon education and particularly further and higher education, in terms of the delivery of the skills needed to support a strong economy," says Principal Mark Jones. "I'm delighted that Gower College Swansea, working with our higher education and other partners, is able to support this agenda and is continuing to develop our provision through strong partnership working."
Gower College Swansea delivers higher education courses in partnership with the University of South Wales, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Wrexham Glyndŵr University and the University of Gloucestershire.
In 2018, the College opened a bespoke Higher Education Centre at its Tycoch Campus which features six classrooms, a library and common room area for the exclusive use of students on higher level courses such as Foundation Degrees and HNDs.
Next year will also see the launch of Sketty Hall Business School, which will be the new home of students on professional business and management courses, apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships. Thanks to funding from Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools and Education Programme, the Grade II listed building will be fully renovated to include brand new high-tech teaching rooms, a social space, coffee bar and library.
Entertainment at the graduation was provided by students from the College’s performing arts and music departments while students from the Foundation Degree in Events Management were also on hand to assist guests.
