CAVA Assessor Level 3 – Qualifications
Overview
The CAVA assessor qualifications are suitable for those who are currently assessing vocational qualifications and require a recognised qualification as a qualified assessor.
Key information
Learners will be required to be occupationally competent and experienced in the sector they are assessing, as well as be in an assessor job role.
A pre-course interview will be required with the course tutor to ensure you learners can meet the learning outcomes of the qualification.
The qualification will be structured in two parts:
Part one
Learners will attend a total of three workshops over three months, to progress through the learning outcomes for the knowledge elements of the qualification. This part will primarily be assessed through workbooks or essays.
Part two
This part will involve the assessment of learners, where the tutor will organise one to one meetings in the workplace to check progress. This element will involve observations of the assessor working with students in the workplace.

- Understand the principles and practices of assessment
- Assess occupational competence in the work environment
- Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
Internal Quality Assurance Level 4 - Award
At the end of the qualification, the portfolio of evidence will be submitted for assessment and quality assurance.
