Overview

This apprenticeship is designed for learners who are employed in a suitable marketing role, who are using and supporting company online branding and promotion. It is best suited to IT organisations or departments who manage their own marketing.

Suitable learners include those who are in social media and digital marketing roles, such as social media assistants, social media consultants, social media analysts, community engagement officers, digital account assistants, digital marketing assistants, digital communication officers, web designers, mobile marketing managers and digital marketing managers.

The apprenticeship can be used to upskill new or existing staff.

Key information

Learners will be allocated a dedicated tutor/assessor who will work closely with both learners and employer to ensure the level selected is suited to individual roles as well as prior skills and knowledge.

The apprenticeship is delivered remotely using Microsoft Teams, with face-to-face training available if required. Dates and times for training will be agreed between the learner and employer to ensure minimum disruption to the organisation.

To successfully complete the apprenticeship, learners will create a portfolio of evidence containing documents, emails, spreadsheets and screenshots of the work carried out.

The portfolio will be reviewed during the regular 1-2-1 meetings with tutors/assessors and used for assessment purposes. Gower College Swansea utilises Smart Assessor which is an online assessment management tool enabling provider, learner and employer to effectively track learner progress.

The apprenticeship also includes essential skills qualifications in communication, application of number and digital literacy, which upskills learners with GCSE equivalents to English, Maths and IT if they have not already achieved grades A-C.
