Women’s Hairdressing Level 3 - Certificate
Overview
During this course you will develop hairdressing skills and work on clients and your own models in a commercial salon environment. Areas of study include:
- Monitor and maintain health and safety in the salon
- Consultation and support for hairdressing services
- Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques
- Cut women’s hair to create a variety of looks
- Colour hair to create a variety of looks
- Promote and sell products and services to clients.
Assessments will be continuous throughout the academic year to include practical observations on clients and models in the salon. There will also be on-line tests and assignment work used to assess theory knowledge for each unit.
Key information
- A Level 2 hairdressing qualification that includes women’s hairdressing skill
- A range of GCSEs at grade D or above, preferably including English Language and Mathematics
- Applicants whose first language is not English will need to have an ESOL Level 1 qualification
- Learners will need be highly motivated and enthusiastic with good communication skills and an ability to work as a team.
You will attend college for 1 evening per week 4-9 pm.
Most your time is spent in the commercial salons developing practical skills and working on clients or your own models. There will also be classroom-based lessons for theory knowledge.
Learners can progress into industry or enrol on other related courses such as Level 2 Barbering.
Learners will be required to pay for the course and top up existing kits with practice heads, tools and equipment.
Costs will be available during interview.
