Foundation A Level
Overview
This course is designed to provide students with a strong academic foundation and equip them with the skills for success at A Level. Through a comprehensive curriculum, students will aim to improve their GCSE grades to progress onto their chosen A Levels, whilst developing valuable study skills which will improve their performance at A Level.
The course objectives include enhancing subject knowledge and grades, fostering independent learning, and building confidence in academic pursuits. By the end of the course, students will have a solid grounding in core subjects, ready to pursue their chosen A Level specialisations.
Key information
Applicants to the Foundation A Level Course should have completed their secondary education and obtained a minimum of five GCSEs at grades C, including English and Mathematics. A genuine enthusiasm for learning and a commitment to academic excellence are essential qualities.
The course will be delivered through a combination of interactive lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and independent study. Regular assessments, including assignments, tests, exams and projects, will be used to evaluate student progress. Grading criteria will be based on academic performance, with class participation and the submission of coursework essential to student success. Students will receive constructive feedback to support their development and identify areas for improvement. The course aims to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
