College Principal shares 10 revision tips for a stress-free exam season
Exam season has begun and young people across Swansea are now taking their final exams and assessments for GCSEs, A Levels and vocational qualifications.
It’s natural that this will be a stressful time for some students and their families.
While many people are still recovering from the effects of the pandemic, it’s important to recognise that mental health strain and pressure are common and that steps can be taken to ease anxiety.

Our students had particular success at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Llandovery last week. Over 60 students in all competed in various stage and homework competitions. Gower College Swansea was the most successful further education college in Wales this year.

Our AS Government and Politics students recently visited London where they took in some very famous sights.
It was an action-packed day. Setting off from Swansea at 5.30am, the students visited the UK Supreme Court and enjoyed a walking tour of Whitehall.
They were also treated to a tour of Parliament including both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. There was a workshop on law-making at the end of the tour, followed by a Q&A session with Gower MP Tonia Antoniazzi.

Ruby Millinship was planning on a career in design until she started studying A Level Chemistry at Gower College Swansea.
“I decided to take chemistry just to try it out really, I was a little intrigued by it at GSCE and wanted to find out more,” says Ruby. “Within the first two weeks, I had found a subject that just came naturally to me. Learning chemistry felt like learning a subject that was already in my mind; it just made sense. Organic chemistry was what first sparked my interest and I soon wanted to know everything I could about it.”
