Preparation for Public Services Level 2 - Certificate
Overview
This one year course will inspire you to improve both public service related and general employability skills through a varied and challenging programme. Areas of study include:
- Public service skills
- Employment
- Health and fitness
- Activities and teamwork
- Expedition and land navigation skills
- Sport and recreation.
Key information
Five GCSEs at grade D or above. English and Maths at a minimum D/E grade.
Most of the units studied will be internally assessed by your lecturers through assignments.
Examples of typical evidence that you may be asked to produce include reports, presentations, posters, leaflets, and the demonstration of practical skills in fitness and outdoor units or in role plays.
Two units are externally assessed using tests.
Elements of this course can be delivered through the medium of Welsh.
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Public Services but other Level 3 courses may also be considered. Alternatively, students can apply to join a public service, but will need to satisfy their entry requirements and pass the selection process.
There may be some cost involved if trips are organised.
