English Language and British Culture
Swansea is the perfect place for a Summer School, being a city by the sea, and surrounded by some of the best beaches in the UK. Indeed, Gower College Swansea takes its name from the famous Gower Peninsula and of course, we take all our students to the beaches to enjoy the beautiful scenery during their stay here!
Our English Language and British Culture Summer School provides students the opportunity to improve their English language and learn about British culture, alongside students from across the world. We also offer an exciting social programme, including sightseeing and visits to famous cities and tourist attractions in Wales and the UK.
The programme will include English and culture lessons in the morning, all taught in Sketty Hall, our beautiful Grade II listed manor house of traditional British architecture. Afternoon visits in and around Swansea, include local beaches, castles, museums and art galleries. Weekend trips go further afield to Cardiff and Bath, with the last weekend an overnight stay in London, sightseeing the main attractions, such as Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, Big Ben, London Eye and the British Museum.
Students stay with a local homestay family in Swansea, enabling them to further improve their English and providing an insight into daily life in the UK. All families are DBS checked and are experienced hosts.
Airport transfer to collect from Heathrow on Sunday 6 July at 1pm.

Price: £2,850 including tuition, social and sightseeing programme, homestay accommodation, 3 meals per day, airport transfer and local transport.
Terms and conditions: Student to be a minimum age of 15. Applications to be received by Friday 4 April 2025. Minimum of 15 students will be required to run the programme.
